Dr Magdalena Fiolna (MRCOG Part 3)

16 Apr 2021

I am very pleased to share my experience with you. I passed the MRCOG Part 3 exam on my first sitting. The exam was cancelled few times during the pandemic and it was extremely stressful but Dr Naqi was helpful and supportive all the way through. I seriously don’t know how I would have made it without her. I am an O&G trainee in the UK. I found this course online and thought it would be a good start for the exam preparation. I was reluctant at first as it seemed to be targeting oversees candidates but I decided to give it a go. The eCourse seemed a little bit basic but after an online one to one assessment by Dr Asma Naqi we made a tailored plan for my learning. I booked one to one mentoring and worked through the module system designed by Dr Naqi using the eCourse as my base. It took me a while to get used to different than commonly used module mindset but once I understood it, it helped me work through any scenario, even in clinical situations I was not familiar with. I learned not to stress over the topic I did not know well, but to keep the structure of the consultation and still tick many boxes and achieve a good score. Dr Naqi is the best mentor I could have imagined. She cares about every individual and tailors her teaching to the student. She gave me many useful tips and a lot of support. She directed me towards the workshops which helped me develop the skills I needed to master in order to pass the exam and become a better doctor. Skills I have learnt helped me massively in my day to day practice. My patient and colleague communication improved significantly and I am able to conduct successful consultations in shorter period of time. I would recommend this course to anyone who plans to sit the exam and Dr Naqi as a tutor and educator in any aspect of your medical career.
